Sanitary Ceramic Made in USA Pet Water Fountain

Cheap Sanitary Ceramic Made in USA Pet Water Fountain Review

I ordered this fountain directly from the seller's site. Customer service was OK, and fountain was shipped with adequate packaging to keep from breaking. I chose this fountain to avoid buying one with a plastic basin or reservoir. This one is made with a large ceramic basin, and a small glass reservoir. After a bit of fiddling, the motor is quiet and the water makes little noise. The cats drink from it, although didn't at first because the motor was a bit noisy. I had the fountain sitting on a hardwood floor with a thin towel underneath, but more padding makes it much quieter. If your cat likes to drink from running water like mine does, they may not like the fountain part of this one because the stream of water is large (not adjustable), for my cat's taste anyhow. We had a petmate a few years ago and she always drank from the flowing water portion of that one and drinks from the basin of the glacier point. It's much easier to keep clean than the petmate. I haven't changed the filters yet, so I can't comment on that. If you're looking to avoid plastic this is probably your choice.

Sanitary Ceramic Made in USA Pet Water Fountain Overview

All pets, especially cats, can become dehydrated for a few simple reasons. Cats are famous for being very picky about most everything in their lives. Most experienced cat owners tell stories about a cat that would rather stave than eat something they hate. When it comes to a cats water supply, they have strong likes and dislikes. Study after study has shown that cats prefer water that is at 61F because that is the temperature of natural spring water. Additional studies have shown that cats dislike water that has an odor such as chlorine. Plastics are porous and therefore retain the smell of chlorine or other chemicals used to clean the bowl as well as chemicals in room air such as fire retardants required to be in rugs and furniture. The facts are in and prove that cats will only drink the correct amount of water (1oz/lb/day) IF the water has no repulsive smell and is below room temperature.Owners have different requirements for their cats water supply. On-line product reviews have pointed out the more serious problems with available pet fountains such as; impossible to get clean or sanitary, flooding from leaking bowls, filters that are only passive and therefore NOT effective at removing chemical and toxins Pumps that fail because the pumps are not protected from debris added to or falling into the bowl.Experienced cat veterinarians agree that anything that can increase a cats water intake is highly desirable and may reduce or delay the very common (and expensive) conditions such as kidney disease, cystitis and urinary tract infections. This fountain is the culmination of three years of research and development which now provides a fountain that will not injure the cat in any manner or inconvenience or harm the owner. The bargin with a Glacier Point for Cats product is in the quality. The Quick Start and cleaning instructions is available on the internet.
