I have a very large fountain that was in a constant state of green. I tried every product out there with no luck with algae control. Finally, I stumbled upon Jungle Fountain Block and it has worked perfectly over the long hot summer. One block took care of a very large fountain for a little less than a month. The trick is to get products with copper in them. I have loads of birds at the fountain and, thankfully, they did not seem to get sick at all. If you keep the copper to a bare minimum it will not harm the wildlife. I highly recommend this product.
